*(e) To earn the advanced designation, students must complete one of the following:
  • 3 units of a language other than English
  • 5 units of CTE (Career and Technical Education plus one unit in a language other than English
  • 5 units in the Arts and Music plus one unit in a language other than English

REGENTS APPROVE 65% AS PASSING EXAM SCORE

For students entering grade 9 in 2005: General education students must have at least two scores at 65% or above on the five required Regent exams and all scores at 55% or better.

For students entering grade 9 in 2006: General education students must have at least three scores at 65% or above on the five required Regent exams and all scores at 55% or above.

For students entering grade 9 in 2007: General education students must have at least four scores at 65% or above on the five required Regent exams and all scores at 55% or above.

For students entering grade 9 in 2008: General education students must pass all five Regent exams with a score at 65% or above.

Students are required to pass all of their courses to earn 22 course credits which include all of their core requirements.

Students with disabilities still have the option of passing the Regents Competency Tests (RCT's) instead of the Regent exams to earn a local high school diploma.
