- Legal notice of school budget hearing and budget vote, and Annual Meeting. Must advertise four times within seven weeks of the vote with first publication 45 days before date of budget vote - April 5
- Educational plan and budget (including BOCES budget) before due date for Property Tax Report Card.
- Submit property tax report card to local newspaper for general circulation.
- Final Draft of 2008-2009 Budget to BOE
- Budget presentations to community organizations, (specific dates to be determined)
- Deadline for nominating petitions - 30 days before election, 20 days in small cities)
- Deadline for filing petitions - 5:00 p.m. day of vote.
- Deadline for submission of propositions to be placed on ballot (30 days preceding budget vote)
- Mail budget newsletter to residents - budget statement and required attachments available 7 days prior to budget hearing (May 5).
- Final Date for Budget Adoption - April 22, 2008. Budget document available to the public. Arrange for pickup and return of voting machines.
- Drawing by District Clerk for determination of order for listing Board Candidates on ballot or voting machine.
- Estimated tax data prepared
May
- Arrange for notary public to swear in inspectors of elections at opening of the voting session prior to the vote.
- Conduct voter registration with board of registration (if applicable)
- Receive sworn statements by candidates for membership on the Board of Education and Library Board
- Board meeting and public hearing (May 12)
- School budget notice to all residents - no later than six days before the vote.
- District clerk must maintain a list of names of those residents who were given absentee ballots and make such list available for public inspection the five days prior to the annual meeting except Sunday. (Public posting no longer required)
